Generic Differin Adapalene is a topical medicine (a medication that is applied to the surface of the skin) akin to vitamin A. It is a miscel.skin and mucus membrane agent used in the treatment of acne vulgaris. The chemical name of adapalene is 6-[3-(1-adamantyl)-4-methoxyphenyl]-2-naphthoic acid.
There are many safety measures that can be used to make utmost use of it. These are as follows:
Differin Adapalene should not be used in patients having allergy to its ingredients. This topical drug falls under FDA pregnancy category C. So it may cause harm to an unborn baby. Your doctor must know whether you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether Differin passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Apply the drug once you remember. Do not apply extra medicine to make up the missed dose. Contact your health care provider if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose may results in skin redness, scaling, or irritation.
Avoid contact of this topical with your eyes, in the creases of your nose, or on your lips. If it these occurs, rinse with water. Differin Adapalene must not be used on dry, chapped, irritated, sunburn, wind burned, or broken skin. Also do not use this drug in wounds or on areas of eczema. Use it after these conditions have healed.
When you are also using Differin, do not use skin products that has ingredient of alpha hydroxy or glycolic acid.
Do not use skin products that can give rise to irritation, for example harsh soaps, shampoos, or skin cleansers, hair coloring or permanent chemicals, hair removers or waxes, or skin products with alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime. Do not use other medicine skin products unless your doctor has advised to you to do so.
Keep away from exposure to sunlight or artificial UV rays (sunlamps or tanning beds) as much as possible. This drug can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn may result. Use a sunscreen (minimum SPF 15) and wear protective clothing if it is necessary to come out in the sun.
Generic Differin Adapalene should not be shared with others. Along with its use, you can adopt stress reduction programs; exercise and dietary changes. Talk to your general practitioner or pharmacist about lifestyle changes that might profit you.
